Bread Machine White Bread

There are few things better than the smell of fresh bread baking, and a bread machine lets you have that without the hands-on work. You add the ingredients, press a button, and walk away. Making Bread Machine White Bread means no kneading, no babysitting, no guessing. Just the best scent of warm bread filling the house.

Fresh bread really is the best, isn’t it? The smell alone is reason enough to dust off the bread machine and let it do its thing. But then you’ve got a slice of warm bread with cold melting butter. Hold on, I think I want another slice of fresh bread.

This loaf is soft, simple, and exactly what you want when you’re craving homemade bread without turning it into a project. The machine handles the timing so you don’t have to.

Dust Off The Bread Machine

This recipe is perfect for when you want homemade bread without the effort. Bread machines are easy to find secondhand, often cheap, and sometimes even free.

I picked mine up from a Buy Nothing Group for my small town, it was in perfect condition. and thrift stores usually have them tucked on a shelf. Once you have one, making bread feels almost too easy.

One thing this new/old bread machine has that the one I used to have years ago didn’t have is a timer. I can set this to wait for several hours before starting and wake up to fresh bread in the morning. Holiday breakfasts will never be the same after this!

What You Need To Make This Recipe

A well-stocked baking cupboard makes bread machine baking simple and stress-free. Keeping the basics on hand means you can bake just about any staple at any time.

  • olive oil or vegetable oil
  • sugar
  • salt
  • bread flour
  • active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
  • warm water

How To Store Fresh Homemade Bread

Fresh bread keeps best when stored at room temperature in a breathable container. A bread box, paper bag, or loosely wrapped kitchen towel helps prevent it from drying out while avoiding excess moisture.

Avoid sealing it tightly in plastic right away, as that can make the crust soft. So no plastic storage bags or Ziploc bags for fresh bread.

Store leftover bread at room temperature for up to two days. For longer storage, slice the loaf and freeze it in a freezer bag. Frozen slices toast beautifully straight from the freezer.
