Peanut Butter No Bakes

These classic Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies are the kind of cookie that everyone remembers from childhood! They’re simple, sweet, and ready before you know it.

They come together on the stovetop with pantry staples and no oven required, making them perfect for quick treats, after-school snacks, or summer days when you’d rather not turn on the oven.

Peanut butter gives these cookies their rich flavor, while quick oats add just the right chew. The key to success is timing the boil, exactly 60 seconds makes the perfect texture. Any less and they won’t set properly, any more and they’ll turn crumbly. Once cooled, they’re soft, sweet, and completely irresistible.

What You Need To Make Old-Fashioned No-Bakes

One of the best things about these cookies is that they’re made with pantry ingredients. In fact, I bet you probably have all the ingredients at home right now.

  • granulated sugar
  • butter
  • milk
  • creamy peanut butter
  • vanilla extract
  • quick oats–MUST be quick oats, no other rolled oats will work in this specific recipe, see notes below

Don’t Sub Out The Oats In These Cookies!

You need to use quick oats because they are smaller, thinner, and absorb liquid faster than old-fashioned oats. Quick absorption helps the cookies hold together and set properly as they cool.

If you use old-fashioned oats, the mixture will not bind the same way. The oats will remain too firm, causing the cookies to turn out loose and crumbly instead of smooth and fudgy. Quick oats give these cookies the soft, chewy texture they are meant to have.
