Bread Machine Cinnamon Raisin Bread is one of those easy to make recipes that’s always a hit. Why? Because it’s easy to make because the bread machine does the work while you do whatever it is you like to do. The finished loaf just smells like waking up at grandma’s house. Yum.

This bread machine loaf bakes up perfectly in the bread machine making a loaf that was made for toasting. There isn’t much better than cinnamon raisin toast and a cup of coffee. Warm, toasty and perfect, it takes me home again.

How To Add The Raisins To This Recipe

This recipe using a bread machine has you select the sweet bread setting when you’re starting the bread. And then you add the raisins when the machine beeps for “add-ins.” Do not add them with all the ingredients or the machine will mix into the dough and you won’t really have raisins left.

But if your bread machine doesn’t have a sweet bread setting or an add-in signal, you can still make this bread. Let the machine start the dough and run through the first mixing and kneading cycle. Then open the machine and sprinkle on the raisins in the last couple minutes of the kneading cycle close the lid and let machine finish kneading. This gives the dough time to come together first and the raisins won’t get crushed or sink to the bottom.

How To Store Fresh Bread

Cool fresh bread at room temperature. Once cooled store in a sealed bag or container at room temperature. If you’re not going to finish the loaf before it gets stale or moldy you can freeze it. Slice it, lay it on a baking sheet, freeze it, then store the frozen slices in a freezer bag.

Notes

  • Bread machine times can vary depending on the model
  • Cooling before slicing helps the bread hold its shape better
  • If your machine doesn’t have a sweet bread setting or an add-in signal, let the dough mix and start kneading first, then sprinkle in the raisins during the last few minutes of the knead cycle. This helps the dough come together before adding them, so they stay evenly distributed without getting crushed or sinking.
