- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 3/4 cup strawberry jam
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a large bowl whip together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth
Add the egg and vanilla and mix until fully incorporated
Add the flour and cornstarch and gently fold in until combined do not overmix
Roll the dough into 24 one inch balls
Use your finger to press a heart shape into each dough ball
Spoon about 1 teaspoon of jam into each heart indentation
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly golden
Cool slightly before serving
- Any flavor of jam can be used depending on preference
- A light dusting of powdered sugar can be added once cooled for a festive finish
