Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 1/3 cup water
  • 8 tbsp butter cut into small pieces
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered milk
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast

Filling

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter melted

Icing

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tbsp milk

Instructions

  • Place all dough ingredients into the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer
  • Select the dough setting and start the machine
  • butter a 9x13 baking dish and set aside
  • Once the dough cycle is complete remove the dough and divide into two portions

  • Roll one portion into a rectangle about 12 by 16 inches

  • Brush with half of the melted butter
  • In a small bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon
  • Sprinkle half of the mixture over the dough

  • Roll the dough tightly from the short side

  • cut into 8 slices

  • Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish
  • Repeat the process with the remaining dough
  • Cover the baking pan with plastic wrap or a dishtowel and allow the rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes
  • Remove the plastic wrap from the pan
  • meanwhile preheat the oven to 350°F
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown
  • Meanwhile in a small bowl mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth

Notes

  • Bread machine times can vary slightly depending on the model
  • For softer rolls avoid overbaking and frost while still slightly warm
